CRG7
It appears that Viacom is asking Time Warner Cable for an additional 23-25 cents per TWC subscriber per month. Should TWC not agree to pay this, then Viacom will be pulling 19 (possibly 20-21) channels from Time Warner beginning at 12:01 AM on January 1, 2009 (so, tonight). Should Viacom win, TWC subscribers can expect to see another rate increase, and you could expect other companies to follow suit in demanding more money be paid to them. CleanGSR
Man.....sure glad we are on Charter Cable and not Time Warner Cable. We wouldn't be able to survive without those shows. Noggin, Nick, Nick2 are on a lot during the day for stuff like Diego, Wonder Pets, and Backyardigans. Sometimes one of those shows is the only thing that calms Brandon down, so we would probably switch to satellite if this happened to us.
James Matteu
If I loose those channels then there is no reason to have cable and it gets turned off. The TV is for the kids.

DirecTV > TWC I had TWC for about 8-9 months back in '99 or '00. It seems that every month they'd add another few dollars to the bill. It wasn't much, but it added up so by the time I canceled with them I was paying $70-80/month for basic cable. Meanwhile, my brother had digital cable with them, lived about 10-15 minutes from me and was paying about $40 for much more than I was getting. For what I was paying them, I switched to DirecTV, got many more channels and added some movie channels to the lineup to reach the same price point
