hiemsnox
so the other day i had just finished putting my engine back together after getting a new cylinder head and as it was sitting there i noticed something... when the fan kicked on my engine would stutter down... and kinda sounded like a bogged up pile of Sh*t.. lol so i stuck my hand between the radiator and filter for my intake... it was blowing a huge amount of hot air right into it...talk about a power drain... so i went out and bought some more piping and turned my intake into a true cold air...problem solved.. just thought i would give a warning out to anyone who hasn't moved their intake down into the fender. Mitchness
It would/does decrease your power, but that intake was also helping your mileage out quite a bit. I noticed a 3-4 mpg difference when I went from my short ram to a CAI.

I wonder how much of a power decrease there really is? Is it as bad as turning the AC on?

Repsol
I didn't think it would do much, maybe give a few horsepower. Only difference i've noticed from my CAI, was the sounddd. Lol.
Xeryon
Since your whore trip dug up a bunch of older threads: Adding a CAI alone really doesn't add horsepower. Mostly what it does it rearrange your power curve so you have more power in the lower end and less at the top end. You do need it as part of the combo of I/H/E which will actually increase your power by increasing the total airflow through the engine.
lceah
ya it can't be a big difference... I/H/E does add and makes the engine more efficient and powerful
Repsol
I say...vote for temp forum ban due to spamming. And I say you're a douche bag that likes to bash people. Go f*ck yourself. Haha, this made me laugh out loud. Anyone who takes anything seriously on the internet has issues. If you are still butthurt about the lug nuts that is unfortunate. I have long since gotten over the whole situation and your apology is accepted.
Repsol
I'm not butthurt. I'm just flabbergasted at the fact that it seems you always have a smart ass remark as to what I'm saying. .
