TS John
This is a common complaint. It's been addressed on several occasions on this forum. Do some searching -- some good suggestions have been made in the past on how to deal with this.

Hondahunter
is it just the top part? just recover it with leather or vinyl If hers is like most (mine included), it cracked at the armrest. It was just glued down from the factory, the sun finally hardens/dries it out and the glue comes undone...etc you know this anyway. Mine also has slits on the top part (looks like somebody got happy hitting it repeatedly with a razorblade). :chair:

Hondahunter
oh that part, yeahhhh. theres no really good way to fix that I once found a plastic piece on ebay that covered it, looked like a nice fix but was fairly expensive, unless of course you compare it to door panel prices. They're kinda hard to find though. Like airjordan said, no real way to fix it unless you're going to fiberglass like me. Hopefully that will turn out well.
