alex37211
I might be able to get this skunk2 Intake mani for my b18c1. It is used but not that old. Does $160-$175 sound about right? Also, am I gonna have A/F ratio issues with it? Will I have to get a chip or something?
..SSR..
Thats a cheap price. Fair would be about $200. It won't be optimal with a stock ECU, but will be better than a chip. If you're that worried about a couple hp, then get it tuned.
CleanGSR
You need to do something with your stock ECU if you put that on. VTEC engaging at 4400rpms without the secondary runners is going to make your car bog and doggy from 4400-5500 (or thereabouts). If nothing else, get your ecu chipped from phearables.net.....that would be better than a stock ECU at 4400 engagement point. If you are already OBD-1 then having them chip/basline your ecu wouldn't cost too much. Optimally, get it chipped and tuned locally for your car if you have the money and someone to do it.....if not, phearables.net would be the next best bet I think. ..SSR..
Not really. I've dyno'd cars with phearable basemaps, VERY not good. Would have been better off with a stock ECU. VTEC won't bog, it just won't kick hard, which is a good thing. A lot of DE and HC guys have their VTEC come on at 2,500 RPM.
CleanGSR
I've ridden in a I/H/E/Sk2IM GSR with the stock ECU. The car does bog during those rpms on the stock ecu. I also rode in the same car when he got the phearables base map and the bog was gone and the car pulled much stronger.

CleanGSR
Why would my vtec engage at 4400rpms? Um, don't you have a B18C1 with stock ecu? If so then it engages that way ...because that's what Honda set it to engage at from the factory....
alex37211
I feel like such a noob. I only assumed it would kick in a little later, like 5600 or so. My rsx seems to engage at 6k. And I drove a prelude that seemed to engage at 5800.
