Axles won't come out of the damn hubs!!

So when I pulled the hubs back from the integra, they slid right off of the axles.

But on the civic, it's like the axle nut is still on! I can't budge it on either side!

I actually pulled the axles out of the transmission and hammered on the end of the axles with a mini-sledge hammer for like 5 minutes solid.

I also tried prying them off with a crow bar.......THEN I had my friend hit it with the hammer WHILE I pryed it with the crow bar.

......am I missing something? Is there some little pin or ring or something that I can't see?

...and YES the axle nuts ARE off. >_<

Yeah, there is a little rust on there. I'll spray it after work.

I tried a propane torch to heat up a crankshaft bolt and it never came off. I held that blue flame on the bolt for a good 2 minutes. How long should I hold the flame to it for it to work? And yes, I was hammering a socket on every 20-30 seconds. The bolt didn't actually turn red. Should I make it turn red?

I doubt you could get it hot enough to turn red with just propane torch, maybe with butane! On crankshaft, were you using impact?

I did try an impact but I only had an old crumby air compressor to work with and I didn't heat it when I had the compressor (I borrowed it). I have an electric one though. I'll try to heat it and then use the electric impact.

yea youll want to make it red hot itll take aprx. with my MAP gas torch 5-10 minutes depending on what it is. then flash cool it with the pb blaster. heat it till red again, whail the piss out of it directly so no socket in between teh axel and hammer. shouldnt take very long after that.

Well I ended up leaving the axles in the hubs and replacing the entire hubs, spindles, rotors and all with the GSR ones. I was planning on doing it eventually anyways. Thanks anyways for everyone's suggestions and I'll keep them in mind the next time I encounter this issue.

...has anyone ever noticed that the length of brake hose from where it connects to the caliper on the driver's side to the first little 2-bolt bracket is like 1 inch shorter on the civic than it is on a GSR? It lined up exactly the same on the passenger side, but on the drivers side, I had to use 2-inch long bolts instead of the little half inch ones. Frickin' weird!
