good ricer story

Recommended Posts

so the other day me and my girlfriend were out in my pathfinder, and we came across this kid in a teg at long john silvers. ill paint the picture for you. it was like a 95, but it looked more like a 75. this car was tore up. it was primed black cept for the hood, roof, and trunk were all white. the car was originally red. it had been kitted, then dekitted. it had those real cheap carbon fiber "racing mirrors" and was slammed down on ls mesh rims. but what stuck out the most was this odd looking front mount intercooler. so i approached him and asked, "how many lbs of boost you runnin?" he looked at me like i was speaking Hungarian and said, "huh" so i asked again. he replied "im not boosting, i spray, i aint playin no games" and then he showed me some random ss braided cable poking out of a heaping pile of clothes, junk and trash. to me these appeared to brake lines or something. so i asked about the intercooler and he told me that it was just a cold air intake. i quickly whipped up the nick-name "interfooler" well long story short he showed me the motor, it was a gsr with a couple bolt ons. no solenoids, wiring, or plumbing for a nitrous kit. its people like these that make me sad to say that im a acura or honda enthusist.

this kind of reminds me of the time a guy pulled up beside me in a del sol with 20's on it and wanted to race me when i had my 89 teg.. i just pointed, laughed, and drove off...

sounds to me like the motor was "stock" to him... meaning he bought it that way... Highly doubt he had a true gsr

true story. he probably thinks it's something it's not.

whats even stranger, is he had a cloth interior. or what was left of it. not a gsr interior. but he claimed that it was the stock motor and it was in fact a gsr car.

its probally a LS that had a vtec head put on it and he bought it like that because he thought or got tricked into buying it being the dumbass that he sounds to be

The 97 GSR I bought was a) red, b) had LS mesh rims, and c) a cloth black interior.

And I know for certain it was a true GSR because that's what the VIN shows. (on the dash, firewall, AND motor)

I guess the GSRs only came with fat fives or blades. I'm not positive, but it makes sense seeing as how the meshies are referred to as "LS mesh" and the others as "GSR blades" and "GSR fat fives". I dunno. But I'm pretty sure some GSR's actually came with a cloth interior. Again though, I'm not sure.

^ I don't think it was until the newer ones that they had the leather interior, and even then I don't know if it was across the board. My mom had a 2000 with the leather. I never researched them really, so I can't say for certain on this either.
