shak3yb0n3z Posted August 8, 2008 Share Posted August 8, 2008 i don't quite understand your question? you wannna replace your friction bearings on the "big end"?? are you talking about the bearings on your camshafts? your cranksshaft? can you be more specific? have you ever taken an engine apart before? how do you know you need to replace your bearings? do you know how to use micrometer's and feelergauges and plastigauge? the more info you give the more we can help you. madkeiro Posted August 8, 2008 Author Share Posted August 8, 2008 I work in a garage for vw. The mechanics said it was the shells on the bearings on the big end at the cam shaft. I've used micrometers, feelerguages but not plastigauge. There is a knocking noise coming from the bottom end of the engine.
