Prangy
So, my buddies retarded a$$, did not have any oil in his 97 gti the other day. He said the exhaust was smelling funny, like coolant mixing with oil or someting I am not exactly sure. I am guessing he should first start by checking if it is the head gasket, you do that by running the car and having the radiator cap off, right? bubbles means it could possibly be that right? I was also thinking he could have just cracked the block, possible to warp the head with that? Any suggestions on what I can do to test a few things before tearing it apart. What is it for the color of smoke out of an exhaust again, white means rich, then? thanks dudes
Kegger
Black means rich. Blue means he's burning oil. White means he's burning coolant. If he's got white smoke coming out consistently then pull the head and replace the HG.
DelSolFreak
did he over heat it without the oil in it? if he did he prob crack the head. one of my old buddies cracked his vw's head twice from overheating it. and my cousin did the same thing in mexico w/ his vw.
