jcfbaby Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 my check engine light shows and i have 180xxx miles my mechanic said it could be the o2sensor is my car fine?
Tubbith Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You can ride with the cel... but you wont pass any emissions test...o2 sensors arent that expensive, and are pretty easy to change.. just pick on up and change it..
chris_agu28 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 you can always go to autozone and if the car is obd 2 then can scan it too make sure it is the o2 sensor. Pick on up while you are there.
jcfbaby Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 thanks guys i bearly got in tha honda life and so far im lovin it
chris_agu28 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 No problem, Hondas are easy to understand and great learner cars. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
cranny Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 you dont need autozome , you can get the codes out of the car yourself easily.
jcfbaby Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 how do you get the codes out your car?
alex37211 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 If you don't have a diagnostics reader, take it to autozone and they will get them for free. They just wont tell you what they mean. You can find out on line though.
cranny Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 behind your passenger kick panel , theres a rubber clip holder. inside that clip holder if its never been out , is a blue 2 pin connector. take it out , cross those 2 wires by jamming a piece of wire or paper clip in both sides. turn the key to on position , bt not starting it , and the engine light will flash the codes , long blink=10 , short blink=1.
lceah Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 the blinking thing is awesome...only doesn't work if you have a very short attention span <---me hehe I just go get the obd reader and look up the codes from the list I carry in my purse...
