wideb16crx
i am having a bad vtec problem that i cant solve, when i have a full tank of gas it engages perfectly, however as my gas goes down it starts to cut in and out and eventually stops engaging all together as i get close to empty. i have no clue what could cause this! Hatch92
usually if it is cutting in and out it's a pressure issue or the filter inside the solenoid is clogged.
wideb16crx
i took the soleniod off and it was clean...my oil pressure gauge isnt hooked up but i cant see why vtec would work when i put gas in it if i dont have pressure
cranny
id say your having fuel pressure issues if anything. your fuel pump might be getting weak , orrr , your fuel filter is so clogged it wont let enough pressure through. put a fuel filter on it. wideb16crx
i already put in a new fuel filter like a week ago so its not that...

cranny
no engine light at all? at any time?
wideb16crx
yea it does show a check engine sometimes, the only thing is it shuts off while im driving which i guess means the problem was corrected. im not sure, my next question is should i go with a walboro fuel pump since i can get one for around 100 shipped when an oem one is going to be more expensive? Hatch92
if it's intermittent it should store it in the ECU so you should be able to download it. Edit: Walbro 255lph is real common when building a car. Edited February 8, 2008 by Hatch92
