frostedflake Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I am about to do a disc conversion on the back of my coupe and I need to know if I need a different parking brake cable or can I use the one I have. if I need a different one can you tell me where I can get one cheap. thanks!
frostedflake Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 Thanks but I also need to know which kind I need to get.
Nancy Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 most rear disc conversions come with the parking brake cable already. you cant use the stock one, you need the cable for the disc brakes. you can use one from an si, gsr, basically any civic or integra with disc brakes.
frostedflake Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 will cables from an 88-89 civic or integra work if it has disc?
James Matteu Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 When I did my rear-brake conversion, I went to the bone yard and dismantled the rear end of an 87 Integra (DC4) down to the hub, and kept the parking cable attached. It was a direct match for my 87 CRX DX (EC1), even the proportioning valve was a direct swap.
frostedflake Posted January 17, 2008 Author Posted January 17, 2008 from what I hear from Honda you dont need to get a proportioning valve, you can use the one that was on the car.
