Weirdest Problem Ever!!!!

Heres my mysterious problem: It all started when i started my car after 2 or three months like a week ago. The car started and ran great for like 10 mins or so. Then when i hit the gas, it started miss fireing to the point to where it would shut off if you quikly hit the gass instead of lightly aplying pressure. When i went to start it again it would run and missfire until i gave it some gas and it would shut off till i tried to start it again the next morning. Next morning it did the same thing again. So i decided to change the spark plugs. still the same thing. Now tonight, i filled the tank with new 93oct gas in it, and moved it around the drive way a bit with high rpms on the tac untill it wouldnt start at all and still same results. i even checked the distributer cap and roter, looked fine to me. the thing i didnt check yet was the wires.

"Basicly, the car runs great (when its cold) but, runs like crap after it warms up."

Please if you have experienced the same problem, give me the key to solve it cus i need it to get to work.

Thx...

check your main engine ground wire and make sure thats snug. if its loose then it can cause symptoms like that. it happened to my itr before. its located behind the dizzy somewhere. cant miss it, a fat black wire.

Thx for your input, but if that was the case, wouldnt my lights and such flicker and things like that???

no, its hooked up to your engine, not anything else. or maybe your timing belt skipped a few teeth or something.

Yeh!!!! I thought of that. Theres one thing that elimates timing. It runs perfect during cold start. if it was the timing, it would run the same pretty much all the time. or mabey not at all. ya kno.

I had that problem with my crx, we we thought it was the fuel filter, but it ended up being the fuel pump.

To see if its the fuel pump, get someone to turn the key, while you listen to the gas tank. If you hear a whining type sound, that means your fuel pump is still good.

And neither do 90% of the people who're in this thread.

So, until you can form a proper sentence with proper spelling, I think I'll perch my ass in this thread and have a laugh at you and your ugly ass car's expense.

Lmao, have fun. I'm going to a party right now. So you sit there and jerk off to the wing on my car all night.

Nah. I jerk off to attractive stuff. Sorry 'bout that but your car doesn't fall into that category. :)

honestly though , it dont need much drop that huge midwing , and paint it a nice color. thats it , it would be a nice ride. of course thats only my opinion.

Yeah, I think the rest of his kit is pretty nice. It's really only the second wing that I don't like, but whatever. If it were black without the wing I'd be happy to drive that thing around. Proud even.

By the way, you have a stock D16Z6 in there, right? If that's true, 93 octane gas is not going to help you when it's having trouble running as it is...

if youve always ran supreme in it , thats probably whats wrong with your car. burning it up slowly but surely.

Pumping high octane through a low compression engine doesnt cause extra build up or anything: its a just a waste of money. The octane rating tells you how much pressure (compression) you can put your gas under before it spontaneously combusts - it will still burn just as well when you hit it with spark. Low compression engines (such as nonboosted d series) don't need the high octane because they never put that much pressure on it. There's a formula on the web somewhere that tells you what you need, based on the compression.

Ill take the advice. it will save me money. Thanks.

But......

If you have high miles on an older/dirty motor possibly with lots of carbon build-up then you would see a benefit from a higher octane gasoline.

Carbon build-up can cause higher compression and also lead to predetonation.
