b16a , no start after neglected storage :(... my CIVIC's MAD @ ME

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had my civic b16a sitting in my garage for 10 months. It strated fine before stored it, Yesterday, I hooked up a booster pack to my battery, turned the key & it wouldn't start, the lights on the instrument panel light up, but when I try starting it , no clicking, no nothing... I 've smacked the starter a couple of times & prayed to the honda gods before cranking it & still Nothing !!

Thanks

check and see if your alternator or any accessories are seized. take each spark plug out , and put some oil down in the cylinders before turning it over. not much , just enough to wet the walls. put a ratchet on the main pully , see if the engine turns over.

THanks for replying cranny, but if any of the components along the serp belt were seize up, the starter solenoid would still click, right? .... but damn turning the crank pulley... will definately do that tomorrow... no matter how cold it is outside!! Brrr
