del sol girl
I have a 94 Honda del sol V-tec, 5speed and I need a transmission. When I look at a parts list under tranny it asks me is it a MT 1500, AT, MT 1600 SOHC or a MT 1600 DOHC. Have no idea what this means.
airjordan223
i dont know a lot about trannies but you have a DOHC motor so im guessing its the MT 1600 DOHC.

reewinder
For the 1994 Del Sol's.... D15B7 and D16Z6 engines had the S20 transmissions. Automatics had the M24A transmissions. The VTEC models with the B16A3 engines had the Y21 transmissions. If your's is the dual overhead cam VTEC motor then you have the Y21 transmission. TS John
What year did the VTEC model appear? I thought it was 95 but I could deffo be wrong. In that case then her 94 is just a D16Z6, in need of an s20 trans. Otherwise it's as airjordan says. Best way to tell is look at the engine code of the front of the engine block. Front middle next to your header heat shield on the left. Possibly covered in oil and other nasty stuff.
reewinder
DOHC VTEC models first arrived in '94.
