I actually doubt he saw it coming or he probably wouldn't be in such a natural position. if he did see it coming it would have had to have been so late that he didn't even have a chance to lift his arms. I've seen a motorcycle lose control and go cartwheel into a pedestrian before and it knocked him right out of his shoes and killed him. I believe it.
