I took the upper timing belt cover off yesterday, and I looked at the belt. The inside of the belt was showing in places. I bought a new and got everything put back on.

My Question is this wear normal?

My secound is can i remove my cruise control, since it doesn't work without hurting anything?

that kind of wear isn't normal. most of the time if the belt is getting old it is brittle or cracked. if it was wearing thin it might be rubbing or the tensioner might have been too tight. In fact the tensioner might be frozen somehow thus causing extra friction to the top of the belt and wearing it down. I do not know for certain, just my thoughts on things to look into first.
