Drew
Stock Power: H22a = 190hp - 2.2 Liter H22a-S = 220hp - 2.2 Liter B18c = 180hp - 1.8 Liter B18c-R = 200hp - 1.8 Liter
Trepid
well the H22A is the prelude engine, it is 2.2L so its bigger, the typs S model gives you ~220 HP and the regular gives you ~190 HP. Where the B18C-R gives you 200 and is only 1.8L. The H22 will fit in a Civic but there are a lot of problems with making it fit that it might not always work out good, If you have a civic I suggest you go with the B18C but if you have a prelude go with the H22<=== more bang for your buck in a prelude
0verb00st
well the H22A is the prelude engine, it is 2.2L so its bigger, the typs S model gives you ~220 HP and the regular gives you ~190 HP. which engine would be in a 91 prelude si? i was looking at one the other day that was in excellent condition and the owner was only asking $1800. 220 hp from a 2.2L is incredible
Swishsam
The 91 preludes dont have that kind of efficient engine, i think their engine makes like 140-160 horse...i dont know exactly....but not the horsepower produced by the new Prelude engine. Swishsam
But for 1800 its still worth it, if you dont buy i will hook me up!
theachiever
hi i was wondering wut kind of car ur putting this motor in. If its a civic id go with the b18c5 cuz it will be a lot easier to mount than a h22 because its the same series. If ur going to put it in an accord, i suggest that u use the h22 because i've heard it fits better.
TrueSi
the new prelude engine H22 5 speedcomes with 200 HP and the automatic is the one that comes with 190 HP H22 is a great engine if you are planning on turbo charge your car it has lots of torque at very low RPM while the B18C5 has a smaller displacement which means less torque the B18C is a great engine for NA vehicles you can get amazing HP numbers with a B18C But like I tell my custumers is mostly a preference the H22 swap however on a civic means some custom fabrication while the B18 is almost a direct swap. Toda Party
the old prelude Si motors are b20a motors. they suck balls.
EGRacer
go wit the itr motor anyway. even if u had a prelude sell it and ghet a civic or crx or del sol or teg. preludes weigh to much and cost a lot to make fast becasue they weigh so muhc. i personally like the itrs becasue they are kinda cheap and really fast and if u get teh right combo between itr and car u will be unstopable
hondafreak
i think that the B18C5 is better 'cause it's easier to mount in the civic.
