TS John
I'm thinking about getting an AEM V2 CAI for my new sol (yes, the one I said I was gonna keep stock, but I figure I/H/E can't hurt if it stops there, right?) and was wondering what people know about it. And I mean really know, as in "have experience with" or "have done real research to find out." Is it that much better than a regular AEM CAI? Does it work with their standard bypass valve? Where can I buy it the cheapest that's not some shady site that no one has heard of before? Post up your knowledge, please.
SolLesHonda
I have one in my room, you are free to have it lol. It is louder. Isn't as loud as a "hissing" noise at idle, but when you stomp it it sounds mean. I'll let it go for $30.
90IntegraC1
^Damn that's a deal....my buddy had one on his RSX. Sounded great, don't know if it's any different than any other intake out there, but def. looked pretty.
TS John
An AEM V2? Are we talking about the same thing here? Those retail for 300 bucks new. If so then done.
SolLesHonda
Here are some quick pics from my phone just taken. A little blurry, but quick nonetheless.
Pyrorocketeer
so why are you selling a 300$ intake for 30$.....?
TS John
Cuz we cool like that. Dude, I will call you now and we will do this up right. Oh, and for those curious you can't use a bypass valve with it. I found this on the FAQ on their site: Q: Can I use an AEM Bypass Valve with the V2? A: NO. AEM V2 Induction Systems utilize a dual chamber to create multiple frequency sound waves. The installation of the AEM Bypass Valve would disrupt the tuning of these systems, and in many cases the tube diameter of the V-2 systems exceeds the maximum size of the AEM BPV making it impossible to install. TS John
So I just bought it. Coolness. Too bad I can't use the bypass valve I got off xxscaxx for $20 but oh well...
SolLesHonda
Sell it to someone else for $25 lol. I'll ship it tonight. That was a quick thread: Question posted, I answered, bought and sold an intake. 25 minutes.
TS John
Can't argue with results. I'm actually gonna surprise my friend with some auto parts while he is out of town. Gonna give him my old DC 4-1 and put an old intake on there too. I'll just put the bypass valve on there so he won't have to worry about anything.
