kgod86 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 1993 civic ex, Runs very nicely, althought i do have 1 problem with her. I will do my best to explain Basically my cars whenever it is reved above 3000 rpms the needle starts to jump around and it acts as if it would be slipping, the engine doesnt even acknowlege the throttle, i will be cruising at 60mph throw it in 5th give it a little more gas, and the needle jumps around and it will just keep on doing it untill i give it less gas, although it does speed up, but it takes awhile. can anyone help.
crxtacy Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Sounds like your distributor going out.Check the igniter .That would cause it to do that. And if you let it go .it might just quit on you and leave you stranded.
Pballer2005 Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 can you hear the engine reving or do you just see the needle moving?
kgod86 Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 can you hear the engine reving or do you just see the needle moving?I dont here it reving, i just see the needle move. If it does rev its so little that i cant hear it.
Blizzard Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Could be an alternator/battery issue, too. I had a psycho Accord that would start operating the automatic seatbelts while I was driving. It ended up being the battery cable shorting out.
cranny Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 check your main engine ground on the thermo housing , as well as other chassis grounds.
