90IntegraC1
So my sub stopped working. Checked wires and they're good. 12V amp wire is securely hooked up to battery, ground is solid, speaker wires are solid, remote wire is spliced CORRECTLY into the head unit harness...i know this because it's worked for 2 years. Amp turns on, but don't know if it works. So I got a new amp and hooked it up, but the sub still didn't work, so I returned the amp. Sub didn't work, so I got my friends sub and hooked that up, still nothing. Checked fuses, and they're all good. So I got a new sub and amp and hooked them up, but still nothing. Help. Thanks. Rick B.
i know you said that you checked all the fuses. but does the power cord thats attatched to the battery have a fuse? also, make sure that none of the wires attatched to the sub or amp are grounding out or crossing with other wires. another thing, check what your gain is set at as well as your bass boost. airjordan223
if you put your ear up to the sub, is there any noise or is it completely dead
90IntegraC1
Check your battery. battery is fine, connection is strong. nothing comes out of the sub, not even if pushed on....just sits there.... and i've tried 2 diff amps and subs....so must be the wiring, but the wiring is fine, so that's why i'm flipping out. Don Pisto
Try a different ground. Try different RCA's. Re-check your remote wire. You have a wiring issue somewhere if no other amps or subs work. Also try your amp and your subs on your friend's and see if they work properly. If they do, then it definitely is a wiring issue.

90IntegraC1
something better had not gone wrong with the deck...it's brand new. I checked the remote wire, i spliced it to different wires than it was already spliced to, and the only wire that worked was the wire that it's been connected to since day 1.... Xeryon
I would assume it has to do with the remote. If the amp is physically receiving power that has to be it. Be it the wire being bad or the function of the deck being bad. Brand new electronics out of the box routinely have problems and failures, thats what warranties are for. Rather then trying to run wires all over the place, just get out the meter and check to see if the power on signal is being sent to the amp. If the signal is not reaching the amp, then pull the deck out and see if you have a signal coming out right at the harness. Might have worn down the insulation on the remote wire and caused it to short.
koffeeDC2
this happened in my dc2 and the problem was that where i had the ground hooked up at i had to scrape the paint off there so it got a better connection.

So, I'm gonna splice it into the red wire which is the power wire for the head unit....that should work.
dohc1991integra
still havent cared enuff to figure my audio prob. lol. ever time i work on it, i just get confused which leads to me storming off!!! koffeeC2, bet u feel like big man on campus now that u figured out the problem, lol glad u getting if fixed dan. if that didnt work i was going to assume that all DAs were meant not to have subs and amps in them

The remote wire isn't designed to power the amp, only to signal the amp to turn on. 10v should be more than enough to do this. The remote is most likely not your problem. Xeryon
Yea, the remote is just a signal. all it needs is some sort of fluctuation in the power going to the amp to act as a signal to turn on. If you are reading something at the amp when the car is on, and nothing when it is off you are good on the remote
90IntegraC1
f*ck. they said i needed 12V to the remote wire in order for it to work properly.
xer0
don't run the remote off the red, or any live wire unless, or your goann kill your battery because it wont turn off . bet u can test it to see if that the problem like i said before. just run your remote to your battery + terminal to see if it turns it on. Unpredictableacts
bounce a spare peice of wire from your 12+ off of your amplifier and then into the remote turn on spot on the amplifier it should then bcome one.......and then take that HU back and get it swapped out.
