Throttle Body... a little "noobish" kinda help needed!

Hi all,

My second topic here. I have an intermittent problem with my Throttle Position Sensor (Code P0122 - TPS low voltage). The CEL comes and goes. Considering I have to replace the entire throttle body I did a search on honda's estore and got the following results:

Rotary Air Control Valve Set- $216.00

Throttle Body Assembly - $217.00

Please help me choose which part I need. Do i need both?

Also, will I be left stranded if I continue to drive with a CEL for a throttle position sensor(I drive around 200-300 miles a week)? Will I be causing any long-term damage to my car? :help:

I would really really appreciate a little help from anyone here.

Thanks and regards

Aree

well the first question is... does the engine try to "search" or rev up and down while at an idle?

and have you checked any of the local junkyards? most or the time you can find a new trottle body for around sixty bucks with the tps and maf sensors already on it.

Hi! Thanks for replying. The engine has shown erratic behavior while idling but only about three times. These instances have been mostly confined to happening when I turn on the engine in the morning.

Also I'm thinking of hitting the local junkyards over the weekend.
