Can I install A/C on a Sol that didn't come installed from the fac

I've got a friend with a '94-ish Del Sol (it's got the auxilary lights) - thing is, he's got the super-stripped base model (no A/C)

While I've got no personal experience with this model, I was wondering if we went to the junkyard and got the parts, would the wiring harnesses be in place to just hook everything up?

Also, as far as engine and interior accessories, at what point to the parts stop being interchangeable with the Civic?

I don't know much about installing the AC into it, since you'll have to fit a button into the console for it all. Easiest would prolly be to find a sol that has it take everything.

As far as civic/sol compatibility, most places will list all the possible apps for a particular part. If in doubt, check the part number for the sol-specific against something for a civic-specific. If they're the same, then it's all good. That's how I made sure that the teg suspension parts that I put into my sol would fit before buying them.

okay, went to the junkyard, and found a 1994 civic with rear end damage..

Looks like the engine bay is a replica of my friend's sol.

Took out all the A/C related parts, except for the electronics. $235

His control panel already has the A/C switch, it's just got a vanity cover over it, and just a filler piece where the evaporator core goes. I'm expecting a drop-in replacement.

I'm gonna assemble everything on the floor, and do the vacuum test, etc so if I need to replace some of the used parts, I don't have the dissassemble the car(again!)
