WANTED
strange p72 Anyone ever see a P72 like this one? I'm trying to figure out why it has four active plugs and what year and version gsr it came out of. -Supposedly it's OBDI. However, I've never seen one with four plugs before. Using OBDI plugs, plugs A,B,and D do in fact fit, however I have nothing to plug into plug C. -When I plug into my car, it will initially start, idle rough for a few moments, die, and then will not restart. However, no error code flashes. If I plug in a normal three plug ODBI ecu in, the car runs absolutely fine and won't die. -I've tried looking up the part number on it with absolutely no results. It matches up to nothing I've ever seen before. Part number on tehh label is 37820-P72-941. In the bottom right corner of the label, in uppercase, are the letters "AU". Can anyone provide insight as to what up with this ecu?
Nancy
im thinking that ecu is an obd2a p72 00-01 integras use obd2b ecu's where as the ones before are obd2a. the main difference between the two is that the obd2b reads for a crank sensor and the obd2a doesnt. i had the same problem when i swapped an obd2a jdm itr engine in my 2000 integra which is obd2b and when i tried to plug in the jdm ecu the plugs didnt line up. so i got an obd2b to obd2a conversion harness from here and my problem was solved. as for emissions, it wont pass at least for my car. cranny
some 99 integras are OBD2B as well nancy , alot of people will try and tell you that theres no OBD2B 99 integras , but there wrong. there most definitely is. both OBD2A and OBD2B both read for a crank fluctuation sensor as well. every OBD2 civic or integra. an H22 instead of having the crank fluctuation sensor(CKF) next to the crank like the civics and tegs , it has its CKP there , crank position sensor. WANTED
Okay then, riddle me this. Do OBDII cars have FOUR active plugs or just three? ALso, Do OBDIIA plugs match OBDI plugs in teh wiring harness at the ecu end, meaning are they the same size and style plug or are they differend? In this case, I'm talking plugs A, B, and D. WANTED
obd2 plug layout Above is what was given to me from another forum. It's showing only three active plugs in abd2 ecu's as well as three rows of pins in each plug. Look closely at the pic of mine and you will see four active plugs with two rows of pins in each, much closer to being and OBDI ecu in plug design. The guy I bought it from said the missing plug had something to do with antitheft. I've never heard anything like that in my life, nor seen a honda ecu have such a thing built in. cranny
the 4th plug or B plug in OBD2A is for auto trannys only. the 4th plug or D plug in OBD2B is for D15B5 engines without CVT , and 99-00 CVT trannys except D15B5.
