Transporter7220
First 2 Links aren't working for me. But just off the bat Id tell you that a JL W7 is ridiculously awesome. The best thing about JL is their Lifetime, no questions asked warranty, but you have to buy it from a dealer to get the warranty. Also, from experience, square subs have more stress on the corners, thats why they re-enforce them, but they will eventually crack at the corners. Round subs have equal stress all the way around. And dont just go for the highest wattage, it doesnt mean its the best, usually it just means that they had to make up for their lack of engineering so they put more power through it. onthefloor
Sorry about the links. Ill just tell u the info. 1 10" JL W7 is 2000 Watts with 500 rms which i cant get for around $500.00 JL 500/1 Amp is around $380.00 CVX 12's are 1500 Watts with 750 rms for $300.00 for two. A kicker 1200 watt amp is around $300.00 I want some nice bass but nothing out of control. Between the two it looks to me like the kickers are a better deal? Their cheaper the Rms is higher. What do u think? Last night i was thinking and said forget the solo x thats to much power for what i want. Its 5000 Watts which is out of hand and 2000 rms! Transporter7220
If your not looking for something too big Id say go with a couple of JL W1v2's or W3v2's and that 500 watt amp. Try to get to an audio shop and get them to let you listen to a 10W7. It doesnt seem physically possible for those subs to be as loud as they are. The magent on those subs are only just smaller than the sub itself, they are truly top of the line.
cranny
little more money perhaps , but theres no comparison imo. W7 JL's are sick period. 3" excursion = FTW.
Transporter7220
Just be careful if you get the W7, you can easily blow the seals of your windows if you run it with the windows closed. I did with my 2 W1v2's.
CBRF4i
BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING. . . What kind of vehicle is this going in. What type of amp Can your cars electrical capacity handle the current draw that its going to take to push either of them subs? How big of a box do you plan on using? Or how much airspace do you even have for the enclosure?? Dont go buy them just because they are big and beefy. They may not even do what your expecting them to do And further more, consider other options. There are alot of other companies to look at before settling on these expensive house-hold named subs. onthefloor
Well i have a 2002 BMW 325ci. I think im going to go with the two kicker CVX with a 1200 watt kicker amp because i dont have all this money to be spending on a JL 10 inch W7.
Transporter7220
The JL link still isnt working for me, how much are they asking?
CBRF4i
Well i have a 2002 BMW 325ci. I think im going to go with the two kicker CVX with a 1200 watt kicker amp because i dont have all this money to be spending on a JL 10 inch W7. before you do that, may i make a few suggestions. . . first off subs. . http://www.tcsounds.com/tc7.htm http://www.incriminatoraudio.com/li.htm http://www.adireaudio.com/ - check out the brahma http://www.audioque.com/aq/SD2_5_Series.htm http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/caraudio/woofers.asp?series=3500d http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSID12V3D2 http://www.stereointegrity.com/Magnum12.html now for amps. . http://www.edaudio.com/store/product_info....products_id=173 http://www.directedxtreme.com/amplifiers/d1200.asp http://www.crossfirecaraudio.com/frameset.asp all subs i mentioned are great SQL subwoofers. Decently loud and they have excellent sound quality. Also, depending on what you need, some are easier to push then others and require smaller enclosures. And dont forget, you can get just as loud with 1 sub as you can with two. By removing the second sub, you are giving yourself more airspace for a larger enclosure. Don Pisto
Just be careful if you get the W7, you can easily blow the seals of your windows if you run it with the windows closed. I did with my 2 W1v2's. Red flag...total BS!!! Man, why is it people think they can blow windows?! You can't unless you are hitting in the high decibel range. I've seen cars doin 160 dB and all it does is flex, its not gonna shatter. Your W1's are weak sauce. I have a DD 9515 and had a soundstream xxx 6500 on it....all it did was give me same major flexing. Between all those I'd go with the Solo X. About them needing replacement, I'm not too sure about that. I was at a comp where Tuan from Team Toxic Bass had 2 10" solo x's in a CRX and was hitting in the mid 150's. JL is over priced, W7 is overrated. Get it only if you want to be another person with JL who thinks they are the crap. Look at CBRF4i's suggestions...he knows his crap about car audio based on the posts I've seen. If you're looking to spend a little amount of money, go with TC Sounds because their products are great and they have great prices. That's just my .02. Pballer2005
damn that tc sounds website is awsome. their sh*ts cheap and looks like good quality. i'm liking that db-500, 400 watts rms, only $100. i noticed the sub on the cardomain site sais that its rms power handling is 100-300W, why coulnd't they pick a number, is it 100w one day and 300 the next? Which sub says that? Do you have a link? Yeah TC woofers are bad ass, I was gonna go with a TC3k, or their 3HP (older model) but I'm gettin an Adire Brahma for super cheap. I'd love to hear the LMS 5400 by TC. Their OEM woofer is quite beefy as well.

Hdelsol95
lmao Blow the seals in the windows... wtf idk where u heard that but total BS! Most newer cars have flip vents in the trunk to equalize preasure in the car with the windows open and closed. Also cars are not air tight lol! u ever drive by some place that smells bad, you can have your windows up and u will still smell it, and overall it would take more db's then that w7 can put out to crack or shatter a window. Also i noticed that the few links you sent for pics of the subs were off ebay...not a good idea, i would never buy audio stuff off of ebay considering you never know if its gunna be blown when you get it, you would be better off going to a dealership paying a little more, at least u know what your getting and u get a warranty. 93blacklx
With W1's there is no way in hell your blowin the seals thoes subs can't handle the power or move enough air to do that. the last showi was at the team 420 memphis van hit between 165 and 170db can't remember exactly and that wasn't even breaking windows it shook the fu#kin ground but thats it and there running 9 15's with 26 MA Audio amps pushing 125,000 watts it's insane

hondaswap352
im personally a fan of kicker subs and amps also alpine and sony.. everyone talks down about sony but my 10's hold their own up against alpine type R's and they are alot better on the price IMO. but its hard to say between the 3 subs you listed because JL is an aswome sub also ( shrug) but i do like the kicker cvx124's if they are the ones im thinking of they sound great in a ported box and will turn heads when you pass people.
