nightsi
I don't know much about cars, but i was just wondering what type of engine modifications are possible on a 2006 civic si. There just doesn't seem to be any room for anything extra under the hood.
Hatch92
you'll prolly have to wait a couple of years for more parts to come out. but i could be wrong i don't know much about the new SI's
jarjar-noob pls help
I don't know much about cars, but i was just wondering what type of engine modifications are possible on a 2006 civic si. There just doesn't seem to be any room for anything extra under the hood. Theres only so little you can do since the FG2 is still a new car. Comptech Superchargers go pretty good giving you 2xx horsepower to 3xx...turbos get easy 300...best CAI would be fujita, skunk 2 has good sound (not rice) low sound and has gains. Whats dumb is my friend posted my car up on this site and I have a 07 FG2 and freaken guy made me sound retarded.
CleanGSR
I say this to everybody. INtake, Race Header, Exhaust, Hondata K-Pro and a good launch/driver will net high 13's. Might need better than stock tires too, but you get the point. Add a comptech s/c to the mix tuned properly on K-Pro and you can get upper 2xx whp. From what I've seen in my area, the reason a lot of people don't get tons of hp off their s/c setups is because they don't get it tuned properly and K-Pro pwns all. mycarsux
Can you still get Comptech SC's even though they're out of business?? DAN!! hit this up.
CleanGSR
Very good question and I have no clue. Forgot about them going out of business. I would imagine that there's some left over inventory to buy out, but really have no clue.....does JR make one for the new SI yet?
mycarsux
I'll check... EDIT: yes they do - bottom of page
CleanGSR
I'm so confused by what you just posted man. So it says it's like a roots style, but looks like a centrifigal, so does it build boost per rpm like centrif. or instant and constant like a roots? That's really confusing me....but if it's more like a roots style, then that will be much better for the S2k than the Comptech/Vortech Setups (slightly off topic). mycarsux
Actually at the bottom of the page it says "Projects Currently Under Construction: 2006/2007 Civic Si"
90IntegraC1
half your engine bay is the damn air box, lol....take that out and you have a lot of room for an intake.... the header comes out the back of the car, so you can't see it, and exhaust is self-explainitary. if you want to supercharge it, the intake manifold is right in front of you, making it "easier" (not necessarily) to install.... lceah
rev it and look at the rpm, want a new light flywheel... new clutch would be good too what HungGSR said... Cold Air Intake/Racing Header/Exhaust... I would turbocharge it! I know you said engine modifications, but changing rims and tires helps performance too! and for external changes, there are a lot of body kits... Search around, google search...there are parts for this car...you just have to find them by looking around...and look at what others have done to these cars and what performance they get out of it!
