90IntegraC1
So the idle and vtec aren't functioning properly. Idle. either fluctuated between 1-2 K, idles strictly at 2K, shoots up to 2500 sometimes, or if cold, will just shut off. the iacv is looped for some reason, mike said that was okay and it worked with another guys lsvtec set-up. what could it be? VTEC. At first it seemed to engage, but on and off every 1/4 second, but that was with 87 octane fuel. With 93, i've heard it engage a couple times, but I honestly can't feel or hear anything different at 5500 rpm where it's supposed to kick in... Using LS Oil Pump, but I have an ITR pump in my room. Oil is filled, so it's not because I'm low on oil. Solenoid is wired correctly. ECU is chipped P28 with Crome basemap. I'm pissed off.
TS John
Obviously I don't know enough about this to really help, so sorry. I wonder if the idle could be fixed with a tune? Does that make sense? I feel like it should. Is there any part of your setup that should require higher octane fuel?
cranny
sounds like an ecu problem to me.
mycarsux
If its an ECU problem its probably a bad chip or something.
90IntegraC1
hmmm, alright.... I get tuned on May 11 with Rob, hopefully that does the trick. Cranny-I rarely rev to 8K....rarely. maybe 7, but that's only 500 above stock....it's not like I "race" often...
90IntegraC1
any other ideas?
xxscaxx
shoot ur tuner an email and ask him. im sure he will want to know about the problem anyway before you bring it to get tuned. if its not the solenoid, not the vtec wire, and your good on oil, id assume an ecu problem too.
