I'm going to have a field day with this one.

Well, I don't really get why people don't ask on the forums they post on before getting a car, because chances are that someone has or had a similar car and knows stuff about them that they may not. I think you got ripped off, guy who sold it to you is probably pissing his pants on how much he got for that old crap box. You could get 1993-1998 Camaro Z28's for $7,000 a few years ago with 80,000 miles; SS's for $9,000 with 80,000 miles. The TT II's are huge and look ugly as hell on that color. It is modded pretty lightly, but enough to drop the value, sounds like a kid owns it and did a few things to make beating on it more fun, a "computer tune" is unneccessary for these cars with those modifications. Tuning starts when people go with a decent cam, not shorty headers that really only produce sound difference, not power. And what kind of computer tune? Those handheld programmers are crap for these cars, they really need to be taken to a good tuner to do it the right way, like Mikey at Rapid Motorsports.

I like I think it is the 98+ Z28's

In terms of 4th generation F-Bodies, 1993-1997 Camaros are better looking then the 1998-2002 Camaros; 1998-2002 Firebirds are better looking then the 1993-1997 Firebirds. Besides the SS, the 1998-2002 Camaros look like f*cking Chrysler Sebrings. 1998-2002 Firebirds look amazing, Trans AM WS-6 the most. 1993-1997 Camaros look great, took the headlight style from the 3rd generation, but made it look like a modern day car. 1993-1997 Firebirds look so tacky, Trans Ams not so much, but definetly nothing compared to the late models.

177,000 miles and " there are a couple little problems, and needs a new clutch setup" i dunno

Exactly what I was thinking, doesn't seem worth the price. I paid $9,000 for my 1998 Trans Am with 90,000 miles 3 years ago, they dropped in value like crazy, plus I don't really trust those things too high up in the mileage. Although my Trans Am is running strong with 140,000 miles, it is still iffy. Thing is probably worth $3,000 at most with the mileage and needing work, especially not being in complete stock form.

Yay for bad optispark and failing water pumps.

LS1 346 is muuuuch better than LT1 346 ;)

Just don't clean the engine with just degreaser and a hose, you have to literally do it all by hand, those optisparks get fracked fast, I'm glad I had a LS1 and it didn't matter with washing the engine bay.

And the LS1 is a 346ci, the LT1 is a 350ci. ;)

Eh, to an extent.

LT1, crazy low end torque. LS1, good all around, but crazy top end. I am a LS1 guy though, I do know a bunch of respectable LT1's going 13.1-13.4 with just intake and catback exhaust. Then again, I know of one that barely hit 12.9 with torque converter, headers, catback, intake, 4.11 gears, and a few other things. But LT1 > 4.6L and 5.0L Mustangs.

u guys are just jealous cuz I pwn u all now.

jk

I dont think I got ripped off cuz theres really nothing wrong with the clutch that guy is just picky. It drives like a dream everything I would expect and more. but I guess thats what I posted for is to get some feedback and I really don't care if you guys like it or not cuz its pimp and I know it.

Good that you don't care about our opinions, because you are right, it's your car not ours. I'm just speaking from an ex-F-Body owner and someone who knows a good deal about the 4th generations, especially. I was an F-Body owner for about two years, researched them for a year before owning one and still am semi-active in the GM world online. And you don't really buy a F-Body to be pimp, you buy it to have a fast, comfortable car; pimp is the only word I never heard on a F-Body forum, young buck. And t-tops own all (when they don't leak)!

T-tops FTW, brah. :)

And, no. There's nothing pimp about your mullet-mobile, at least Rob and myself have/have had the classier of the two LOL(if you can call it that) in the form of the Trans Am.

Btw, the LT1 may have HAD crazy low end torque back in it's day, but the last one rolled off the assembly line about 10 years ago so they're becoming old and decrepid in their age. I've seen my share of 11/12 second LT1 cars, but they have a good bit of work done to them, just to keep them on par with bolt on LS1 F-Bodies. Either way, it's a killer motor(or was for it's time) and is DAMN sure better than any modular Ford motor/5.0 pushrod.

Nah, not offended at all, I'm just saying I would have never done that for the price and mileage, especially now that you can find LS1 models for about $1,000 or $2,000 more, easily. But congratulations none the less, definetly a good type of vehicle.

Nooo, he's saying LS1 cars are only selling for about a grand or two, maybe three more than LT1 cars are.

So if your LT1 Catfish was 7K, an LS1 Catfish is 8/9/10k.

I understood once I came back and Read his post again. the problem was that sixe grand was hard enough for me to get but the ls1 would be nice.
