cranny Posted April 27, 2007 Share Posted April 27, 2007 pretty excited about this one boys. just fell into my lap you could say. im sitting in a coffee shop parking lot eatin pizza on a break at work. guy pulls by me right slow in this slightly beat up EG6. im thinking wtf does this dude want. he goes around the parking lot and comes back and puls in right next to me close , motions for me to roll down window , im thinking he wants a smoke or somin. he says are you cranny , lol , whoa i said who the fuk are you , haha. he says he seen me in a local site im involved in , and thats when he asked me to do this for him. SSR's gonna love this , lol. this guy has a 900KG EG6 full blown race car. last year while racing it locally , running an ITR setup , C5 , dropped a valve and smashed a piston all to hell. so hes got a fully built , ported polished , new valves , so on head. toda Bspec cams. ported polished TB. some kind of intake manny not sure ill find out all the stuff and edit later , just found out about this tonite. JDM ITR LSD tranny. the same bottom from last year , but hes got SRP 11.5:1 pistons , stock C5 rods , all new bearings and goodies. wants me to build his engine and get it in his car and running so he can have it tuned , so i say FUK YEAH!!. he runs hondata S300. hes got some money in this and is a high class build , im stoked. says hes still waiting on a couple parts , will be ready in about week and a half approx. so keep checkin boys , will have lots of pics. cranny Posted April 28, 2007 Author Share Posted April 28, 2007 hes got it all , lol. hes waiting on his pistons and needs a new set of bearings , thats it as far as i know. this is all mototr , so sleeves are not necessary. hes running stock ITR rods. 11.5:1 SRP forged pistons which hes waiting on now i know. fully built head already , with toda stage 2 cams in it(he says Bspec but im assuming that means stage 2). he has no clutch yet , hes running out of money , says hes loking at an XTD stage 3 clutch , i told him ive dealt with them before , and for the money they are great. gearset? dont get much better than a JDM ITR tranny w/LSD. what are they like 4.7? flywheel im not sure about. prolly stock but i dont know. where are you getting wierd ass combo from i dont understand? Not hating that you get to build it, just on the setup. SRP's suck, why keep stock rods? Toda B's are way outdated, stock trans for a drag car... Just doesn't make sense. cranny Posted April 30, 2007 Author Share Posted April 30, 2007 stock ITR rods are good for all the all motor power you can get to them , you know that. why pay 400 bucks for rods when the factory ones are as good if not better right out of the box. i really dont know enough about toda cams to dispute the age , ill take your word for it cause i have no idea how old they are. its not a drag car , its a circuit car , AMC , road course racing.
