gabeeb
Well my 95 B16A3 Sol got jacked last night - sucks a fat one. I'll be lucky if the ins. pays out 3.5k for it but assuming it does, what should I get? And if you see a red del sol in Dallas with an unpainted hood, feel free to beat the crap out of the driver. TrailMystic
Sorry for your loss. Is this a common problem with our sols? Are the stolen cars most likely stripped for their B16A3 engines? When buying my car I noticed that Blue Book was usually much lower than what people were paying. Pete
TS John
Bummer, man. I can't imagine what that feels like but I bet it sucks. Hondas do tend to get stolen. Especially modded ones so they can be stripped of their mods. The reason people pay more than KBB for sols is usually that they love sols and when they find a good one they really want it, so are willing to pay for it. So, what are you all doing to protect your sols from being stolen and stripped? What really works? Pete
CRG7
So, what are you all doing to protect your sols from being stolen and stripped? What really works? Pete If someone wants it bad enough, nothing will stop them from getting it. Sorry, OP, to hear about your car being stolen. As for what they sell for, Sols are not all that common since not many of them were produced during their years of production. Therefore, they can easily sell for more than they are worth according to KBB.

A common thing that gets stolen from Sols in the cities are the box computer thing on the floorboard on the passenger side. Mine got yanked when I first got my Sol....I was not happy. Now I have it sealed in with apoxy glue and a car alarm. I should have had an alarm in the first place.

Wendy
.. The ecu? Ya...that's it! I could not remeber the name. People go around and yank em in cars aorund here. It is crazy! Preludes, Sols and Civics....I guess they are all interchangable.
gabeeb
I had a kill switch on it, and I had just put new belts on, one of which was squeaking really bad for about five seconds at start up. I never heard it (happened at night). Yeah I had the B16 - I don't know how anyone could have known that; I only work on it at my friends garage. In Dallas there has been a rash of f-ers in tow trucks just rolling up and taking cars. No one seems to ever question a tow truck, so they get away with it. I have a feeling that's what happened. I'm kinda scared to get another Del Sol until we move out of these crape apartments, but I miss it a lot, already. On the other hand, since classes are almost done, I don't really NEED a car this summer (my job is one bus and ten minutes away, and my wife has a car for other times) so I am kinda of considering doing a fresh build. Anyone have suggestions for getting a good b16a3 in my area (assuming I can find a body somewhere)?

EH6TunerDaniel
When the car is found, buy it back from the insurance and rebuild it. Or part it.
CraigTX
Been there before, they found mine and it was stripped down to nothing. I was ready to get rid of the car though, Recently I find myself missing that car. Good luck with it. Mine was a B16 also
