jjcuff1
Update: Just saw the car. It is on a garage storage lot, some leaves and debris on it. The outside is white and has oxided hood/trunk but no body damage and all things look tight. The rear trunk has key scratches that have rusted. There is some rust under rear fender wall near body panel (small). basically can be cleaned and driven immeditaly. but probably a simple paint job. how much for a pearl white coat? inside dahs is very clean, center console storage is ripped out. radio/ac controls looks tight and very good vinyl. The console and wheel are good. all button above console are faded. doors are tight. drivers window does not line up. door panels are beat up, look work but are tight and window buttons lok good. Carpet is trashed from shifting engine compartment has typical pitting but with cleaning paint and body looks good, hosed, almost no rust, oil and inside cyl head looked really clean. 103k miles. tires are dry rotted, battery is dead, brakes are fully rusted, muffler is trashed, under car except muffler exhaust looked free of rust mostly. I get the car for $500 new battery, repair or replace tires & brakes: $400 maintence tune up at home: $100 inside work: new console: $? new carpet $? new chairs $? new switches $? body shop touch up rust, align door(s) then repaint. I would liek to add front bumper wat online shops have good non batman looking bumpers. I like the bumper with the fewest holes that a big grill and goes to the ground and still has fog lights. at 103k miles I will not touch engine till troubles appear. so other then preventive work I might do CAI but should I just replace muffler, if tubing is rusted too should I just do a header and full cat back? what least ricey soundeding ones? I will pressure wash, detail in engine bay. then drive. Once GF gets new car I will consider engine upgrades looking for a short term daily driver cheap, reliable (IE honda toyota, nissan) for GF until she can buy a real better car. I was looking at $1000 cash cars that i can keep running. most are $1000-1200 88-92 with some work or american 94-96 that look ok but probably are sleeping nightmares My buddy will sell me his 94 del sol s, white, manual, orig owner, dead battery few body nicks but really a perfect car (100k miles) for $500 looks like a no brainer. Also after she gets a new car it looks like a good project car. how is the S? any major problems on the del sol to keep it running that I have to fix ASAP? I wouldn't want major stuff, just clean engine compartment, minor bolts ons, outside paint and nonrice body upgrades and fix interior. I live in Tampa so it would be fun to go to beach with targa ar these cars remotely (i know they are small) safe? air bags? slide in rain? brake well? Have your buddy buy a new battery (tell him you'll reimburse him if you buy the car or something), and make sure that it runs okay. If so, then go for it. Sure, it's just the S model, but for $500 + the cost of a battery you can't go wrong (IF all it really needs is a battery).

TS John
If you don't buy that sol for 500 bucks that's crazy. White sols are totally hot for chicks. If all it needs is a battery and a few nicks fixed then jump on that!
TrailMystic
Just bought my sol and was monitoring prices for the past 5 months. Most sols with 100K cost around $3,500 if they don't have any major issues. Pete
