Manish
Hi, I have recently bought a used 1998 Honda Accord. Just after the registration is showing the Check Engine Light(CEL). I went to a Mechanic he told me the poblem is with Catalytic convertor and error code is P0240. He said that he has to change the Catalytic Convertor. I checked with two mechanic they are saying it will cost around $300 to replace it . They are not going for original OEM part. By putting a Convertor from some other company i.e. Boscal or Eastern will solve my problem? As I have to go for inspection check also. I am not in a position to shell out $1000 for OEM part. Thanks for help
Kegger
It is not gonna matter what company you go with. A cat is a cat. Just go for the cheaper ones and they will do the same thing that the oem one does.
Jeffro
As long as the cat clears the CEL, who cares? The only thing it needs is a spot for the o2 sensor, and a shop should know which ones work for your car, so go for $300 I say...
