Nancy
so check this out people, i just got sent home early from work today because i served a customer 2 coronas, 1 shot of patron and a red bull and vodka. its after he drank the RB and vodka he came back to me and claimed he started feeling a little sick and then he just collapsed on the ground so by then im freaking out and i called the EMT. the EMTs call an ambulance and have him hauled out to tri city emergency in vista. when i gave my report to the EMT's i told them the truth, that he seemed in good shape and wasnt acting drunk or buzzed at all, then i listed all the drinks i gave him and they said the RB and vodka "might" have something to do with it. so im like thinking to myself, "oh sh*t, im gonna get fracken fired and this big ass casino is gonna lose its liquor liscense cause of me". so now i have to wait it out and see what happens, my boss is gonna call me later and let me know about the guys condition. as for now, im gonna gas up my civic and go tear it up on palomar mountain just to relax a little. thanks for listening. airjordan223
yeah energy drinks and vodka can be dangerous depending on the person. you shouldnt be held responsible though. hes a grown man
Ben.
You didn't MAKE him drink it. You aren't liable.
90IntegraC1
Think about it.....stimulant + depressant in the same drink. Their heart is racing, but they can barely stay awake....that's dangerous. Red Bull + Vodka, as delicious as it is, should have never been introduced. I hope everything works out for you Nancy.
EH6TunerDaniel
I have never heard anything bad about it....I would think they would tell you or something or not let that drink be ordered. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
xxscaxx
Think about it.....stimulant + depressant in the same drink. exactly. one wouldnt really do anything in most cases, but if you were to have a lot of them...no good. gets your heart racing. it all depends on the person. you cant get in trouble, he ordered the drink, and you simply made it for him. a LOT of people get rb and vodka. if they were to fire you i would be throwin bows at people b/c you did nothing wrong. Red Bull + Vodka, as delicious as it is, should have never been introduced. Thank God someone said that, I was about to say, how does noone know why it's a possible danger. I used to love the stuff, I prefer Jagerbombs though, Red Bull and Jager, baby! Last time I drank Red Bull and Vodka ($2, w00t), I got plastered, got carried out of the bar and driven home by friends. =P
Humphries
never heard of that.. RB and vodka make me feel good.
compuvision02
Because you get the rush of energy with the effect of the alcohol, it feels great, but your heart is going bonkers...and yes, I said bonkers.
Kegger
The alcohol depresses your central nervous system and cardiac output, but the red bull speeds your heart up at the same time, but it doesn't want to speed up because your brain doesn't tell it to. Which causes it to palpitate (caution-big word) or beat irregularly. This in extreme cases can lead to heart attack, or death.
BuddySol
Dude I just woke up from a raging bull binge last night too...lol. but indeed it can be dangerous...never really had a problem with it other than in Vegas which was rather alarming. Hmmm... An establishment can be held liable for whatever happens to it's drinking patrons...which in turn may have it's own consequences for the workers who are dispensing drinks. I doubt though that anything will happen to nancy, maybe some extra training...suspension...but i don't think you'd get fired.
RSX-S-T
Thats the same thing with like uppers and downers. You dont mix them :nono: , the guy probably was just a light weight and it effected him more than others. Like if you mix ecstacy and xannax you are almost garanteed to die. This is like that but on a much lower level. I will say this and that is Red Bulls are no joke. If I drink like 2 or 3 of them in an hour I am tweaking. I am just now getting over a Red Bull addiction at work. Hi my name is Keith, and I am addicted to.....Red Bull

compuvision02
eh... Taurine or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid is an organic acid that is abundant in the tissues of many animals (metazoa).[1] Taurine is also found in plants, fungi, and some bacterial species, but at lower levels. Taurine is a derivative of the sulphur-containing (sulfhydryl) amino acid, cysteine. Taurine is named after the Latin taurus, which means bull, as it was first isolated from red bull (Bos taurus) bile as well as semen in 1827 by Austrian scientists Friedrich Tiedemann and Leopold Gmelin. It is often called an amino acid, even in scientific literature,[2][3][4] but it lacks a carboxyl group and therefore does not qualify as an amino acid.[5] It does contain a sulfonate group and may be called an amino sulfonic acid. Small polypeptides have been identified which contain taurine but to date no aminoacyl tRNA synthetase has been identified as specifically recognizing taurine and capable of charging it onto a tRNA.[6]
airjordan223
yeah wikipedia Urban legends surrounding the source of taurine have included bull urine extract and bull semen. While it's true that taurine is found in both sources, it is not the source of taurine in the pharmaceutical or food industry. And while taurine is sometimes extracted from the intestines of cattle, many food industry sources, including the popular energy drink Red Bull[1], make efforts to use synthesized sources that are vegetarian friendly
