Drew
Well, got my tires mounted on my rims but my stock lugs won't fit my rims. I'm gonna go pick up some cheapo's to use just so I can get my rims on for now. Are there some good quality lugs that you guys recommend getting and do you have some links to a site for them? Thanks,
TLontheDL
yeah there are aftermarket lugs and locks that you can get like "gorilla" which are pretty cheap. there are also bersaglio crystal lug and locks that cost...i think 250 bucks a set but i dont think you'd like them. they'd look good on chrome wheels and i dont think you have chrome wheels..do you?? here are pics of some that a fellow TL member has on her car. i believe she purchased it in japan. optional187
the reflection in the wheel makes the red part look like a bra and i've heard a bunch of good things about gorilla lug/locks. if you have aftermarket wheels get the locks, people will debo your wheels otherwise, and don't park in the shadows. lol
BuddySol
I believe the first Gorillas, or the open ended ones, are the ones you should stay away from. I've heard they rust and don't last under an impact gun.
Trepid
can anyone suggest a good simple looking locking lug... I don't want anything bling or anything
BuddySol
McGard Lugs. Most car manufacturers use them for wheel locks. They also sell lugs with locks, I'm looking into black ones from them. Their Spline Drives are interesting, come in different colors and whatever...hmmm, maybe I'll get those. Trepid
are those locking? also, can I use that steel key with my impact wrench?
JDM Jackass2
yes, they are locking. and unless you want warped rotors, you should use a torque wrench and tighten in a criss cross pattern when putting on wheels ;)
Trepid
suggest me a good torque wrench, I've been trying to find a good one also, I can set the torque on my impact wrench, but what do I set it to? I haven't quite figured out all those settings on it but I can read the book
JDM Jackass2
craftsman torque wrenches are my favorite... you can get them at sears. i usually tighten to 90 ft lbs.
