mpc3061285 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I am looking into getting an integra, pref a LS from what i was told that the tranny's are the best to have when setting up a turbo application. but should i replace the head with a V-tec head or use the B18B1 head? either way i was going to replace all valvetrain and cams. Only for the fact that i rather do things right. And i plan and having some serious HP in the car. can u explain the differnce in the two heads.. as far as why i cant turn a LS head into a V-tec head. And if i do need to get a V-tec head where can i get one.. cuz i can not find anything around here at all. thanks Mike
90IntegraC1 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 well an LS is either a B18A1 or B18B1, you just have to tell me the year of the integra and i could tell you. LS gears are pretty long, which is decent for turbo, but an ITR trans is probably best because it comes w/ factory LSD. I'm doing lsvtec w/ a B18C1 head, but you can use a B16, B17, or B18C5 head also...
cranny Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 B18B/A is NON VTEC. all the other mentioned dare VTEC. you cant turn a non vtec head into a vtec head. impossible. you can however , turn a non vtec engine , into a vtec engine.
..SSR.. Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 LS trans sucks. It's barely shorter than an EX trans. LS head, B18C1 trans.
cranny Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 LS trans good if you got some power to get through them , i mean they boast a 4.266 final drive as well , same as 2nd gen B16's. gears are just taller. VTEC head , GSR trans.
