A few Prelude Problems...

I have an 88 Prelude Si that's having a few anoying problems:

1. If I plug any accessory, including the cigarette lighter itself, into my cigarette lighter socket, a fuse blows that causes my interior and fog lights not to work.

2. My tachometer quit working. It stays on "0" all the time and with this problem, my cruise control doesn't work.

Any thoughts on fixing either of these problems?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks much! Exactly where is the tach sensor located? Is this an item that you can buy off the shelf at a local parts store or is it a dealer item only?

I'll be installing a new CD player this week so I'll have the section of the dash out where the lighter socket is so I can check it for shorts...etc.

BTW, I just put a new battery in about 2 weeks ago...
