i have a 96 accord with power windows. when i roll down the front passenger window it struggles until it gets about 1/2 way and it rolls down fine. when i roll it up at half way it gets stuck and just dies. when u roll it up you see the whole window shift into the side panel. when u roll it down it shifts out. i took it apart and checked all the screws and everything is tight. the only thing i can think of is it is the rail and the thing that slides on the rail. Any solutions?

I have a 95 Accord with power windows, and my driver side window had the same problem, until it eventually fell down and never came back up. It sucked, because I didn't have any money at the time to fix it, so I just shoved sponges and anything I could find in between the window and the door to keep it up. I had to open my door at drive thrus. It was really lame. Anyway, it turns out that the motors on the power windows for Accords don't last very long. They eventaully die, and you have to replace them. I'm not sure how difficult it is to fix on your own, but I know the part is around $130-$150 or so. I spent like $330 to get the damn thing fixed. Now my passenger side is getting slow. Sucks!

I was pulling out of the parking garage next to my work. After I pay the attendant, I go to roll my window back up and hear this crunch sound as the window hesitates to move. It was stuck about half way up and switch only seemed to be able to lower it ever so slightly. I messed with it until the glass slid into the door, where it stayed until I could get home. One I had the glass removed and the regulator out, I pluged the motor back up and made a visual inspection of the regulator in operation. I could hear a loud crunching sound as the motor wound one way, then the other. Leaving a small peice of plastic dangling, the anchor for the "up" string (not sure what the proper term for the metal string that pulls the window back up) had been pulled from its position where the window bolts to the regulator.

I am getting up at 7am to be at the bone yard that opens at 8am, tomorrow.

I'll let you guys know if I make off like a bandit at the bone yard. I will post what I pay to replace that thing, but I am sure it won't be $330 bucks like the last guy that posted here.

Went to the bone yard and 5 out 5 5th Gen Accords did not have what I was looking for.

One of them looked okay, but someone took the motor; and I needed both motor and rail.

One was a DX with a rare power window delete, bleh ! -who wants that?!

I did get a chance to look at some other stuff I had been interested in, but my comments on that are in their respective threads.

So I ended up at Honda, shelling out $192.61 for a brand new Left Front Regulator (P/N 72250-SV4-A01). Threw it in at the Honda parking lot, took about 10 minutes. I was excited and worried, that the new motor would make my already slow windows seem even slower. To my suprise, and disappointment, the new motor moves just as slow as the other three!

I will definately be hitting up that rail with some spray silicone when I get home.
