..SSR.. Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 SMSP race exhaust. 2.5" piping, 18" resonator, turn down. Dumps out right at the b pillars. More bottom end than any other setup I've tried including SMSP header open. Killer top end. Quiet cruising around town. Loud at WOT. Drones like hell above 65. Before I put it on (just open SMSP header). I was behind my friends 99EX coupe w/ B18B DC header (I've mentioned it before), he pulled around a dinking SRT-4 and got on it since the road goes from 4 lanes to 2. I got on it behind him, stayed on his ass, he kept on it, I kept on it since I couldn't pull around him unless I went onto the shoulder. He stayed on it some more, I decided to bump him. It was pretty funny.
Ben. Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Yay for dumped exhausts. Boo for rear end bumping while moving.
Humphries Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 i thought i replied to this thread already. post pics.. kickass setup too.
Col Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 stupid people do stupid things. People don't take risks because they are easy or safe, but because they are fun and dangerous. Have you ever tried swapping seats with your passenger (or driver) without dropping below 100mph? I get only ever get two responses to that - "You're ******g stupid" from people who haven't tried it, and a huge grin from those who have.
cranny Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 power to ya. ever think of the fact your putting other peoples lives in danger while doing that stupid crap? other peoples babies who might be on the road? anyways.
Col Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 power to ya. ever think of the fact your putting other peoples lives in danger while doing that stupid crap? other peoples babies who might be on the road? anyways. + 2 - Absolutely I think about that... God invented large roads and times of the day when they are empty precisely for that purpose. I have never deliberately put another road user or unwilling passenger at risk so that I could have fun. I can't speak for others though. Edit: That was in the past anyway, don't have enough bottle to try with the steering on the wrong side. Maybe I have just grown up ;)
CleanGSR Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 God invented large roads and times of the day when they are empty precisely for that purpose. Might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. You sir, are an idiot.
Col Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. You sir, are an idiot. Or you don't understand humour. I was suggesting that there is a time and a place for trying things out without risk to others.
CleanGSR Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Yes....and that's not the example you gave (hence my hateful post). You're talking about doing this on the streets, and you never know who could pop around a corner.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 + 2 - Absolutely I think about that... God invented large roads and times of the day when they are empty precisely for that purpose. yeah, you my friend, are a douche. I'm glad you don't live near me. but one of the kids around me thought it would be cool to take his car over some natural bumps in the road. they caught some air, and slammed head on into a bus full of kids. they thought the road was empty. I wish the darwin effect would have played part in that scenario.
Col Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Yes....and that's not the example you gave (hence my hateful post). You're talking about doing this on the streets, and you never know who could pop around a corner. No, that's AN example not THE example. Don't get me wrong, if you don't know what could "pop around a corner" then you should be driving with that in mind. I agree that the people who don't care for others are tools. It's like the old saying "speed kills" - no it doesn't, accidents kill. If you don't have an accident then no one dies. Take SSR's {edit} original post - there may be three cars being driven in a way could risk the lives of all three drivers. That doesn't mean that they haven't picked a place where no one else would be affected in a similar way if they do. You can't say he's risking others or that he is being stupid because (a) you don't know the scenario and (b) you don't know his driving skills. Take my example - we picked a 3 lane straight road with a great view and no counter-traffic, then picked a time with no one else on it. If we made a mistake we probably would have got seriously hurt, but no one else would have physically been involved (and our families would have known that it was because of bad choices made by 19 year olds). Now back to responsibility. Both myself and the friends who used to play around like this would learn our cars as soon as we got them - for example, I wouldn't want to find out what my car is like stopping with full anchors from 70mph in a real life emergency situation. I want to know BEFORE so that I can read the situation and react accordingly. So when I buy a car I have a good wide open test road with great visibility, a below average road surface and fields on either side that I can practice stopping on at different speeds. Of those of you who are preaching about responsibility, how many of you know the extremes of your car from practice? Not track practice because the surfaces are different. I have never had an accident. I'd be lying if I said that I never came close to an accident that I would have caused, because I did a couple of time when I was a new driver. I have however avoided many accidents since with idiots who have made stupid mistakes, and I have avoided them because of the skills I learned practicing things at appropriate times. So preach to those who are risking other people's lives, but don't bother trying to judge me or others without first knowing if we are even a part of the problem that you speak of. I certainly am not, and there are many of your "sensible" drivers who do not boast a no accident record. Do you preachers all boast a clean driving record?
..SSR.. Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 I bump my friend (different) on the interstate in traffic. It takes a lot of bump to make a car spin.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 The point is that you're dumb enough to try it. what kinda pos do you drive anyways that you just go around bumping people? I've never heard of anything spectacular about your car, or engine for that matter. Oh yeah other than you got some racing exhaust on it. sounds like rice to me.
Col Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 The point is that you're dumb enough to try it. what kinda pos do you drive anyways that you just go around bumping people? I'm a douche because some kid crashed into a bus and SSR is a ricer because you don't know how his car is set up? Dude, you are judging people on what you think they are like rather than fact. If in your opinion rice is a sports exhaust, then what do you call Porsche wheels on a '74 Beetle?
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 they call that the German look. I don't pretend to be fast, by putting a "race" exhaust on my honda. <-thats a ricer. stfu noob.
Col Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 they call that the German look. I don't pretend to be fast, by putting a "race" exhaust on my honda. <-thats a ricer. stfu noob. No, rice is having wheels worth more than your car.
CleanGSR Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 No, rice is having wheels worth more than your car. See, I always thought a ricer was somebody that sucks the e-wiener of another forum member in an argument over who's car is rice. (That's you sucking SSR's e-wiener if you didn't catch that).
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I thought those looked like Porsche wheels. thats cause they are. And fyi they aren't worth more than the car dipsh!t. I could easily sell that car for 12k. I paid 750 for those rims + new tires. 120/tire my rims didn't cost that much.
Col Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 See, I always thought a ricer was somebody that sucks the e-wiener of another forum member in an argument over who's car is rice. (That's you sucking SSR's e-wiener if you didn't catch that). Nice one Hung, I see you've looked up humour and given it a go. Keep trying. Look, I don't care about your car Pyro, it's your attitude which bugs me. You're just getting off from flaming people based on false presumptions, and you think it's smart calling someone a ricer when you don't even know what it means. You're behaving like an idiot, get over yourself. Hung... you're usually fairly cool mate. What's up? You have misunderstood everything I have said in this thread. Seriously dude, you've got me completely wrong. I don't care about SSR, but he hasn't said anything to deserve the verbal diarrhea dished out by Pyro. Read the thread for what it is rather than what some of you are trying to make it.
