I'm not being a jerk here, but do you know what double clutching is? If so, you'd realize that there's no point on newer cars and you'll be slower if you do it.

Answer the first question then.....do you even know what double clutching is? If you did, and understood how synchros in the tranny worked, then you'd know.

its when you push the clutch in and pull it out of gear then let the clutch out and push it back in before switching into the next gear right? i dont know exactly how it works.

yes during downshifting, it keeps the rpms in the optimal power band for coming out of turns for acceleration, but isn't needed on syncronized transmissions....you could rev-match instead which is what i do when i go on the back roads at night to do some road racing.

clutch in-->pull out of gear-->place rpm's in range where downshift will take you-->put in previous gear(4th-3rd, etc...), there's no hesitation coming out of turns, i'm already at the perfect rpm to accelerate and there's no jerkyness.

i've figured my trans out....i know where it's going to put me if i downshift to any gear, so you should learn that yourself.

sorry i actually wast trying to be rude on that one i just know when i got cerious about it thats what brought it up im my mind. im not making fun of u cuz thats one of the big questions that i had when i started and thats what this place is for, asking questions. not meaning to flame man.

No.

Power shifting kills transmissions.

Don't ever call driving fast on the street road racing.

imo i think rpm matching is the propper way to smoothly drive a manual.
