dc93 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I am gonna purchess the Pioneer AHV-5700DVD in my CR-V, lookin to make the car a little better so the ladies dig lol. So if any one is familiar with this product I would like some information on it and the installation process. Also i heard from a friend that i would need to purches the PAC TR7 if i would like to watch a dvd while the car is in motion. Please if anyone was information i would like all and any thing anyone would like to tell me. Thank you
Don Pisto Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I dont have any expriences with flip screens, but I believe that you dont need the TR7 to watch movies while the vehicle is moving. You just do something with the e-brack or the grounding wire there, or something like that. I'm sure someone here knows. If not go to caraudio.com/forum and do a search (if you post the question they'll most likely to tell you to seach since its been asked many times before).
Rick B. Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 the wire that youre supposed to attatch to the e-brake, you take it and attatch it to a regular ground wire.
dc93 Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 so i would not need to buy th TR7 i would just need to do some wireing. thanks for the help
Rick B. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 np man. are you going to be wiring it yourself? if so, make sure to print out a wiring map for your car that way you can match the proper wires to each other. it shouldnt take more than 15 minutes for the whole process.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 15 min to wire?! mine took a hell of a lot longer than that.....
Rick B. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 eh, maybe im just quick then. takes me 2-3 min to take off any dash panels, 30 secs to disconnect stereo, then a few minutes to wire up everything and replace the dash.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 mine didn't have the dash in when i hooked it up either, but it did take a day...... then again, I had to run speaker wire for all 6 speakers, hook up amps, and everything for my alpine.
Rick B. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 i just never had any problems running any wires, its something im good at.
Pyrorocketeer Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 its not hard, just takes time..... try completely rewiring a car from a diagram.... thats a bitch....
Ben. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 its not hard, just takes time..... try completely rewiring a car from a diagram.... thats a bitch.... Yea..that'd ..generally take a while.
Rick B. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 ive never tried but id be willing to. it would be a fun challenge im sure.
Chris 32 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 ive never tried but id be willing to. it would be a fun challenge im sure. I guess me n u have a diff. idea of fun haha.. i'd rather pay some1 to do that lol
dc93 Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 lol well what kinda of car do you have where it took you 15 mins to wire your system. do you think it would be that fast with the cr-v
Rick B. Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 i wired up a carpc into a honda civic and a ford mustang. a carpc though has two different units. it has the pc unit and then it has a pop up lcd touch screen that mounts like a in dash cd player a person with the wiring diagrams and at least some basic knowledge in wiring shouldnt take more than 15-30 mins
