CivicCoupe1999 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hi i just got some 17inch 205 45 wheels and there to wide for my car there hitting the arch i have the Civic Coupe 1999 SE 1.6i. Car is completly standard other then the wheels anyone have any suggestions on my problem? Could someone please tell me the recommended offset for my car aswell please. I think my wheels are offset ET35
CleanGSR Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 What's the offset on the wheels and the width of the wheels? Edit: I see you said 35 offset....that's why. 40-42 is about as far as you should go on offset.....even 45 would work, but 35 will stick out too far.
CivicCoupe1999 Posted February 9, 2007 Author Posted February 9, 2007 Thats what i thought but the company that sold me the wheels said they would defernetly fit. Any ways round this other then alot of archway work?
CleanGSR Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 They were probably talking about the bolt pattern fitting. See if you can get a refund or something.
CivicCoupe1999 Posted February 9, 2007 Author Posted February 9, 2007 I don't think they will refund them, is there anything that can be done to the wheels? Like to correct the offset so they fit better? They cost me £750 and they wont refund so i need to find away to make them fit.
CleanGSR Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 A machine shop might be able to machine off part of the inside of the wheel where it mounts to the hub. You'd just have to search around local for someone who could do that though.
