ocampo88 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 all right u probably have all seen my car up for sale/trade. but just in case no one wants to buy it i might just keep it and work on it...but think is i need help on locating most of the problems...i already kno i need new fuel injectors. and alternator (which i already have) but couple of other things (minor) are needed to be done.... like my eletrical is weird. car wont start for crap even with a new battery. also just changed the wiring harnesses too. the tach moves even when the engine wont turn on. (like the tach will "bounce" to one and the engine wont turn....) once i replaced the wiring harness and bat the sercurity system i have wont respond.>_< those are the only problems i have found... so ppl please help me out....thank you
Ben. Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 If the security system won't respond it's liable to be tied into your engine's ignition system..and if it doesn't respond..your engine won't. At least, that's what most security systems nowadays do.
cranny Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 i doubt you need fuel injectors. not very often they go. you might need a dizzy. check your chassis and battery grounds. its hard to say hey i think its this or that without the history of the vehicle and whats been done to it. give us the story , whats been changed , taken apart , fixed , so on. when did problem start? so on.
ocampo88 Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 thing is ive tried hooking up my sercurity system to my ignition....nothing. like no respone at all. i did all the major tune ups it needed. new oil new air filter new spark plugs and wires. new disc and pads in the rear (both of them ) new hub assembly on the rear passenger and thats it. all i kno the engine has been sprayed upon twice and the ground wires look very old...but no i didnt check the fuses and i didnt think about checkin the grounds only cuz the car would alwayz bogg...so i figured the fuel injectors are one of the problems....and the alternator.... another thing is the car wont start..and no juice is running thro...and i just bought the battery while were at it. like its been sitting there for a good week and so i thought to go start it up and get the oil running again...nope the car didnt turn nor did any lights come on...so sumthing is sucking the battery...anywayz help me please...
Kegger Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Loose grounds or bad relays. Hell I've even seen cracked fuses drain batteries within hours.
Xeryon Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Sounds like a ground or short. Something is draining the battery. Sometimes it's something really silly like a seat-belt indicator. Had a car that when you opened the door the seat-belt light would come on. The door sensor shorted out and the seat-belt light never turned off and after a couple days sitting the batt would be dead. Would removing all the non-essential fuses to cut power to much of the car help in locating the short? I would think that it would eliminate a considerable amount of wiring to check for problems.
