AcesFullof10s Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Hello everyone. Steve here from N. Cali. Just purchased a '94 Del Sol V-tec. 108k on the clock... It's bone stock, and I'll probably keep it mostly stock as this will be my daily driver. I have a '91 300ZX Twin Turbo that is my baby. The Del Sol is a fun little car to drive. I have a few questions tho... I'm sure as in most forums, I'll get told to search for my answer's... but incase someone is bored and wants to answer, I'd appreciate it. -Is there no interior trunk release? -What size are the front and rear speakers? -Is it just me, or are the instrument cluster lights pretty dim? Also, can anyone recommend a few sites for parts? I've googled Del Sol Parts, and get the standard OvernightAutoParts and RockAuto sites... Any other tips and/or information would be appreciated. Thanks!
AcesFullof10s Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Guess I need to learn to press POST TOPIC only once! -sorry.

94typersol Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Yeah, I turned the dimmer up.. still pretty dim tho. yeah man it dont do much sucks i know
reewinder Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 The '95 - '97 models have trunk releases. If you're lucky enough you can find one in a wrecking yard or scavenge one out of other Honda's.....a Civic from the same year should work but will have a slightly longer cable. As for the dash lights they are quite dim. I just replaced all my bulbs with blue LED bulbs and they look sweet. I got 10 bulbs from a guy off of Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...6076&rd=1,1 You will need 7 of they for the instrument panel. I even put one in the ashtray compartment. I'm probably gonna buy some other colors and swap em every so often. As for parts sites it pretty much depends on what you're lookin for. I check Ebay a lot. But always do your homework before buying stuff. Most people here will give honest opinions about what's good and what's crap. As far as the speakers go I'm pretty certain they are 6.5 front and rear. (6 1/2 or whatever)

(6 1/2 or whatever) he said it all right there. the speakers are 6.5" for the front and rear. can you post up some pics of the LED lights you installed, and maybe a how to or something, ive been looking to do that also. as for parts sites, i found it best when you know what parts you want, and search google like that, rather than just del sol. i think ive used hpautoworks, wheelmax.com, and maybe nopi.com. good luck with it
AcesFullof10s Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Awesome... thanks for the info Guys.. I ordered the LED's... I did the same thing in my Z.
tallhamer88 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 word..the led dash lights hmm..where did you order them from?
airjordan223 Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 I just replaced all my bulbs with blue LED bulbs and they look sweet. AcesFullof10s Posted February 4, 2007 Author Posted February 4, 2007 Mm'kay... when the lights get here, I'll take some pics of how they look in the cluster, as well as the car. I'm assuming people on here like to see pics.... Thanks for the warm welcome too.
reewinder Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 Ya....the color is a bit uneven but I'm going to try and move some of the bulbs around and see if it will smooth it out a bit. But all in all they look vastly better than the stock BLAH color. I'll take a few shots with my cell phone and see if I can get em on here. I tried with my digital camera but the flash keeps going off. just re-edited with better pics......
airjordan223 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 i was gonna do mine in red to match the rest of my car, but i dont want it to be coming up light, or in spots, because then it would be pinkish
TS John Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 That looks really good. That might be added to my very small list of things to do to the sol I'm getting that I wanna keep stock.
airjordan223 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 sorry i misread it. you dont happen to have pics of the cluster when you took it apart. could you tell if there was any way to add lights or something back there? if i do this i want it to have matching color all the way through
AcesFullof10s Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 What about the EL gauges? Anyone have those?
airjordan223 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 i think solleshonda has them this is what im lookin at. not white faced, but the red numbers
Ben. Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Freakin' nice. Even MPH and it goes that high. Shame you'll never peg it out LOL.
airjordan223 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 yeah this guy converted it all to mph even the miles
reewinder Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I don't think there is a way to add more. But when I have time I am going to take the cluster out again and maybe try switching a few of the LED's around and see if they still have dim spots....and if so I'm going to try cleaning the inside out with Q-tips or something. Perhaps it just gets a little dirty inside there??? I grabbed a link off of the main Team Del Sol web site on how-to remove the cluster and it was quite easy. There are quite a few bulbs in the back but the seven you will need to replace are easy to spot....all mine had a dab of red/pinkish paint on the back. Go to http://www.teamdelsol.com/ then click on information....then scroll down to "how to remove gauge cluster"
