oldschool Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 My 81' just started losing power then POW! loss of compression, slite noise, then dead standing. It's a 5 speed, just recently started leaking oil from the timming belt area.I can't get the crank pully to do a 360* turn,I'm thinking a bearing, crankseal, endseal? If anyone can help?
cranny Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 do yourself a favor , when turning engine over by hand , and it wont go all the way , dont force it , lol. thats pistons hitting valves keeping it from turning. sounds like the oil you were leaking either allowed it to skip teeth , or broke. the oil is comming from the front main seal. that engine prolly isnt going to run again without some work dude , i hate to tell you.
Kastigir Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Sounds like a timing belt issue to me. Most likely will need some valve work to get running again.
