psx2rulz2 Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 i just tested my fuel pressure and according to a chilton service manual its SUPPOSED to be 47 psi approx. mine turned out to be 30-35 psi at best. would that cause my sluggishness, occasional stall, bad starting, and bucking/missing at higher rpm problems? old description on this thread: http://www.hondaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=21148
Kastigir Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Most likely. Did you check the pressure before or after your fuel filter?
Ben. Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Oh, definitely dude. I maxed my injectors out once when it was boosted before it was tuned. Turned out to be too low a fuel pressure reading. I was spraying like 41 pounds when it needed to be WELL over that. Cut the car off about halfway through the powerband. Fuel Cut Stall FTL.
psx2rulz2 Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Most likely. Did you check the pressure before or after your fuel filter?im pretty sure its after...i fitted a pressure tester on top of the in-line filter...i had to get a custom bolt that was long enough and i put the pressure tester on top of the banjo fitting on the filter(i took the little bolt out and put the tester on that, and used the long bolt to tighten it on). its a brand new in-line filter though so i doubt its clogged already lol. btw i guess my car calls for about 41 psi, not 47; but its still 10 psi too low so im guessing it could be a bad pump.
Kastigir Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Bad pump, or potential gunk in the fuel lines. If you have gunk in your lines, it is *highly* possible that your new fuel filter is partially clogged.
