gibberman Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 does anyone have any clue if you can get driver-side airbags installed into a car that lacks one? i guess it'd mean i'd have to buy a new steering wheel...but i'm not really too bothered about expenses. thanks guys.
Kegger Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Um... Buy a car that has em. Your ECU can't even control that, not to mention that you have none of the requesite (sp?) wiring to install tham, and you don't have the activator switches installed in certain areas of the car. You are better off just wearing your seatbelt.
TLontheDL Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 wow, i thought you can get a new airbag or have it reinstalled? I forgot exactly how much an airbag cost but i remember looking for one SEVERAL yrs ago and remember it costing a grip. Its illegal to drive a car with no airbags...in texas
Kegger Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Unless they didn't come with them as an option in their production year.

Its illegal to drive a car with no airbags...in texas they are hella expensive from a retailer. and its only illegal if you don't have them and the car originally came with them. and then its a matter of.... well how do they know? are they gonna hack up your dash to find out?
