Pyrorocketeer
Well....I've got some bad news.... Today when I was comming home from the mall, my engine developed a bad tick. I needed to get home, so I kept running it..... It lost 50% of its power, and I started to slow wayyy down. The tick turned into a knock, the knock turned into a boom.....with lots of smoke. :( The poor ole girl is sitting along the road waitin to be picked up by my brother and I tonight. Engine needs tore down and inspected.... I'll post the damages later tonight, or tomorrow sometime..... :(

TS John
Bummer, man. I too am feeling the sting of car problems this holiday (see my thread in the del sol section about my accident). Hopefully you can get it all sorted soon enough. Good luck.
Pyrorocketeer
Sorry to hear about your wreck John. I hope you get all that stuff sorted out in your favor. I'm already rounding stuff up for a rebuild..... I have a used case coming soon ($50) and ordering all the parts for a rebuild tomorrow. stock crank and rods. 2mm bigger pistons little hotter of a cam increased compression by taking out the cylinder shims. blueprint my oil pump should be good for a few more hp, and a lot better gas mileage. I don't have the money for a serious build at the moment, so i'll just stick with just over stock.
Pyrorocketeer
Well today I had some spare time, so I decided to tear into that blown engine to get all the salvageable parts off of it. To my surprise, there wasn't many.... :( took off cooling fan to get a better look at the damage done to the case.... note the 2 holes in the block.... lol took off heads to find this.... cracked between the valves due to overheating at one point in its recent life. removed cylinders to find a bunch of things.....lol broken piston..... broken rod.... Busted into 4 pieces, but the rod bolts didn't fail! broken cam..... and the list goes on.... the crank is now shot, the oil pump broke.... no longer can use the oil cooler (shards of metal could be in it) We (dad and I) aren't sure exactly why it failed the way it did tho. The rod journal is obviously burnt, so it was starved of oil, burnt the bearings, and lead to its demise..... Engine case is on its way, and the rest of the parts will be ordered within the next week. :(
Monty
Wow, that's the worst I've ever seen, especially since it was running fine, then all the sudden, you're driving poop on wheels.
