percywalker
I have a Honda CRV, 1999 4wd, manual with 180,000 miles. In Jan 2006 my engine trouble light came on after I ran out of gas and re-fueled. Diagnostics indicated the CO2 sensor. I replaced the catalytic converter, had the diagnostic light reset, and it did not come back on. Recently, I had a lot of engine work: timing belt replacement, oil pan gasket, fuel filter, oil change, water pump, radiator replacement, etc. Within a few minutes after leaving the shop, the CO2 light is on again. I find it hard to believe the catalytic converter is bad already. I did not install an original Honda cat in Jan 2006 because the cat was priced by several at $900 - before labor. The best quality after market was about $250. That is the route I took. (By the way - avoid doing business with AutoPartsWarehouse.com and their many offshoots in New Jersey!!) Has anyone else had problems with the sensors or converters going out so soon? I have already had the diagnostic reset. But the light came back on within a few minutes.
