New to the forum and new to Honda

I found a 1987 Honda Prelude sitting in a driveway. When I asked about it

they asked "what will you give" $250.00 bought the car.

The car overheated last year and they don't know whats wrong with it.

New battery and cleaned a few connections - found the dist. cap coil wire post

melted closed. New cap and she fired right off - lots of white smoke from coolant.

Head removed - machine shop charge to check and plane the head.

New head gasket and timing belt - fired off with one click of the key.

This is the 1.8L engine with side draft carbs. The car has Sendel wheels and bridgstone

tires - 205 - 50 - 15's I've spent the last month tightening and tweaking as I drive it.

Getting around 30 mpg and the car is fun to drive - Not real quick but definately faster than

my Toyota 4 runner. Almost zippy compared to my truck.

I now have a daily driver Prelude that looks pretty good and I have a grand total of

$500.00 involved.

I know this is not everybodys idea of a "true" Prelude but I like it.

I'll go back to lurking now.

I need a new front bumper cover - this one is cracked all to hell. Aluminum brackets

holding it together. Anybody know where I might locate one ? It ain't factory.
