compuvision02
Will a gauge cluster from a Civic Type-R (EK) fit in a EH Civic? I know you can fit Integra Type-R (DC) into EH Civics, but it cuts off half the gauges and looks a little odd in terms of fitment, but will the Civic Type-R (EK) fit better? ..SSR..
Why do you need Type R?
compuvision02
My friend wants to do it, he wants something different for an EH. He also wants a tachometer that shows 10,000RPM.
Humphries
no, it wont fit. EG6 cluster is nice though.
compuvision02
It will not fit? Or it will not fit pretty? Because in a way, you could say that the Integra Type-R cluster will not fit, but it does, it just has wierd gaps and such. I'm just triyng to figure out for him whether it will look cleaner then the Integra Type-R.
Humphries
it will fit worse than the ITR one.. i guess i have never seen an itr one put in. but the CTR cluster is a much different shape and size than the EG cluster.
compuvision02
That's what I was thinking, looks like there will be a big gap in the sides from how rounded it is. I'm guessing he could custom fabricate something that would help it look like it fits better.
Humphries
he could get a big plate of CF and cut out the stuff for the bezel on his already owned eh6 cluster.

compuvision02
10k, sigh. I don't get why everyone flames on this board. I'd rather have a tachometer that has the capability to rev that high, because it means it is much clearer. I rev to 8500RPM right now, I think when I am tuned I should be around 9000RPM and my cluster only goes to 9000RPM. It is really hard to focus when it is that far down and be accurate, even though I have a check engine light shift light now. And it isn't like revving to 10000RPM is completely terrible. Cars do it and it works for them. Stock rev limiter for a USDM GS-R is 8200RPM and stock rev limiter for a JDM GS-R is 8500RPM and that little bit extra does a lot in a race against a USDM motor. Everyone told me 8500RPM was too high on here and I'd probably be better off shifting lower, but I believe I am making good power up there or it wouldn't be the stock limiter. Not to mention I've raced USDM GS-R EH2's and pull on them with that extra bit of time and revving.

..SSR..
You don't even make power at 8,000 RPM. The ITR barely does. If you want accuracy, get an Autometer. Number spacing is the same on all Honda tachs.
