nightshift customs 95
I have a 96 integra gsr motor and I was driving down the road today and I noticed my vtec didn't respond well when I got on it like it's supposed to. It would rev to about 6 grand w/o vtec then it would lag for about a second then I could feel it kick in...then as I went into second, it did the same thing but the vtec would kick in, then off, then in again...like it was hesitating. So I took it out on the highway to see what the deal was and as I went into fourth, it hesitated and my check engine light came on, but went off as soon as I restarted the car. I have a couple problems with it right now...I have an exhaust leak right off of the exhaust manifold, I have a vacuum leak somewhere, and there's gasoline in my oil. Would any of those problems cause that, or is there something else wrong?

cranny
gas in your oil is bad , bad dude. the fact you had an engine light come on leads me to beleve it could be somin other than oil or a clogged solenoid filter. see if you can retrieve a code still. might still be in the PCM. could be a vtec pressure switch. Egb16
Check your fuel, it may be running too rich! That's probably how your fuel is getting to your oil.
